Sadly this is not a tribute to the "Friends" sitcom (the final episode has been shown here in the UK this weekend), but it is instead a bit about me and my friends. Before you all ask, yes, I do have some!! And my favourite "Friends" moment - the Thanksgiving episode where Joey ends up wearing the turkey and I have also enjoyed watching the very first episode again this weekend, along with the last episode!

One of my oldest friends is Sue. I have known her since I was 8 years old and first moved to Thatcham. We met at Brownies and later went on to secondary school together. We have been firm friends ever since through thick and thin.

I'm still in contact with (or got back in contact with) other friends from my time living in Thatcham (from age 8 through to 18+). This includes Shusharna (who got married to Paul the day that England won the Rugby World Cup), Beth (married to Rob with two children, Ben and Susannah), Suzanne, Louise (married to Mark), Kelly, Lisa, Cara. I have also bumped into other people at various points in time in the last 10+ years.

After leaving Kennet I went to York University and regularly see Kath (who got engaged to Adam the day that England won the Rugby World Cup), Becca (living with Byron) and Heather (who got married to Paul in April 2004). We try and meet up a few times each year and have a party, or go to the theatre, or have a weekend away in a cottage.

I also see Jeremy and his wife Gill regularly, and Adrian and I did the readings for them at their wedding in September 2003. They have a website at www.thepicks.co.uk. I have also met up with briefly other people from York over the past 7 years since graduation.

Most of my other friends I have met through Guiding. Some from Emmer Green, some from Thatcham, some from Bracknell and some I have made through Guiding on the internet at NetGuides and through the GuidingUK Yahoo Group.

If you are an old friend of mine and we have lost contact over the years, and want to get back in touch my email address is at the bottom of the page and I'd love to hear from you!
